Anyone tried the Isnipe app for the Iphone? I'd be interested to hear your impressions. Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing ever happened. Sir Winston Churchill

Dave I use Ballistix rather than isnipe I find the interface more user friendly and actual readings are closer to what I get in the field. With ISnipe I find my windrift readings up to 10% out. Perhaps wind shear in the states are different to that in western Europe ! I have a shooting buddy in Canada also using both software and we exchange notes on a regular basis. He shoots 16 calibers. I am on my fourth update in 13 months with Ballistix but not so with isnipe. Now depending how you read into this update business. Does it mean the software was badly written in the first place or more features added with ongoing software development ? I suspect the latter is closer to the truth. If you only have to look after 02 - 03 calibers in total then all this is a bit O.T.T. The other advantage is if you actually load at the firing point. Do you remember the range day we had in Bisley last year ? I have benefited many times with "Ballistix" when atmospheric condition changed drastically over a period of a few hours and on top of that I was changing powder and as a result muzzle velocity at the same time. It just makes an average range day more exciting. I cannot however accept why the Ipad version cost 600% more ........... In my opinion the iphone version is well worth the investment. The other thing is if one cannot "read the wind down range" nothing is going to help when the chips are down ...... Lastly since a lot of hunters professes to be ethical and never take shots over 100 - 200 yards I am not sure the relevance of all this on this forum.......
