Happy New Year I finally shot the fox in on my place in Scotland, it only took me three years to get a safe shot. He was normally sitting infront of my neighbours cows, sheep or farmhouse as a backstop The weather was poor as I spotted him asleep on a rock @ 160m curled up like a fox fur hat. I was on top of a small hill about a 30 degree angle. If I hit the rock, I would get a nasty ricochette from the 7 mm KJG from my 7x64. At 160 m the rifle shoots 6 cm high. As the angle was 30° I worked out the flight path would be 0.9 of 160 m. So I aimed at the junction between the rock and the fox. As I was about to squeeze the trigger a young roe buck walked out just behind the fox, but I could not shoot him, as the trees were in the way. As he cleared the trees, the mist suddenly appeared and the deer disappeared. Five mins later I could see again and Mr. Fox was still asleep. I took the shot and the fox twitched and lay still. Not quite as heavy as a roe deer but heavy enough to carry back to the cabin for the photo The strange grin is that it took my mate so long to take the photo my arm was on fire. Hi Chapster The KJG are amazing bullets for the following reasons. 1. Very accurate as they are milled on a CNC lathe. No load development and shoots 5cm a groups at 200m 2. Very flat shooting and add a extra 500fps to you normal MV. 3.Dont foul the barrel as much as a std bullet. 4.Very clean kill with no blow-ups. Yes,yes I know they are more expensive but I dont like dealing with lots of bloodshot meat as I do my own butchery. I shoot KJG in 7mm (favourite), 0.30 cal, 0.375 and 0.458. By kJGs do you mean Lutz Moellers Kupfer etc? What have the on game results been like. I saw them zip through a chamois with almost no effect a couple of years ago. They were given another chance by the hunter and again gave poor killing effect.

Mark: A beautiful dog fox. He looks much larger than our North American red foxes, is he typical in size for his age? He looks like an excellent candidate for a full body mount. Best regards, Dave One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got into my pajamas I'll never know. - Groucho Marx

Hi Guys FB check out Lutz's website the database is enormous Cost is 140 euro for 100 that includes shipping. this make the bullets expensive but I dont have to waste 30 rds in load development and meat damage is minimal even on a shoulder shot so they pay for themselves in effect. I dont use them for plinking at the range there a lots of cheaper bullets to do that. The new KJG give amazing results, I have shot about 20 deer with them in the past year with better results than the interbonds/sako SHH. The 308 will shoot a 120 gn bullet at 3300 using 42 gns of RL10x so no danger of burning your barrel out as friction is greatly reduced. They are very hard bullets so on my 458 DGR I do use 350-500 gn woodleigh bullets as the ranges are @25 m and there I do like big fat slow lead bullets.
