Well I finally put together my .45 Blaser and shot it at the range on Sunday. I shot a total of 20 rounds working up the loads with VV N 135. The starting loads were with 4064, but the VV is a far superior powder.

The bullets we started with were the Hornday 350 grs RN, but I am going to use the Nosler .458" 300 grs Partition to finish the load development

It is a start!!

Aleko:

Any data available yet for the 400-500gr bullets?

I take it performance will be similar to or better than a 45/70?

Has to be a great pig thumper. A rimless 45/70 for a bolt gun makes quite a bit of sense.

I hope you can turn that pattern into a group.

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

I regards to the loading data we are only working 300 to 350 grs bullets to achieve accuracy and velocity. Yes indeed it is the ideal pig gun, as for accuracy I have loaded batches of 5 rounds with N135 and hopefully shoot them on Sunday.

I handled Aleko's 45 Blaser today.
The rifle balances and handles real good with the medium weight barrel.
I cannot believe Blaser does not market the 45 Blaser in the US.

I will get the chronograph out a little later this month and give some velocities, my guess is about 2100 to 2200 fps with the 350 grs Speer Mag tip

Since the 454 casull duplicates a 300gr 45-70 load where does the SW 460 enter in? The load data info I have on the 460 is up with the 45 blaser looking at Hodgdon Reloading Tables.
