depends when in july as to wether you catch the Roe rut, plus if your stay goes into august then you hav a lot more choice with Fallow bucks, Red and Sika stags all coming into play all over the uk, but i am not sure about Ireland
Plus if the crops hav been cut then Lamping is an extra bonus for Rabbits and Foxes over the stubbles and Pigeon shooting is quite good in a few areas

i am more intrested in muntjack , because i have allredy hunted roe many times. i 'll be visting my grand children near by brighton, but i want to hunt a muntjack at same occasion what shall i bring . i have rifles in caliber 6,5x55 , 3006 and 375 hh( maybe little too much for a muntjack) and a combo in 20/222 remington. is it allowed to hunt muntjack with shotgun or 222 rem?.

You can certainly use the 222 on muntjac, but it may be even easier to borrow the guides rifle if you are just doing an extra stalking day...

Mid to late July is great for roe bucks in the rut. Quite likely you will call muntjac if there is a population. However there is a strong chance that they will be in velvet and hence not a good trophy.

If you combine the two you must take 243 minimum if just muntjac then 222rem and 50gr plus. If you wait till August you have Fallow in season but again they will be in velvet so very poor bucks or prickets only. If it is really hot many would not want to stalk fallow for fear of the carcass spoiling.
