Here is our chance to have a grass roots representative on the BASC national council. Griff (aka Neil Griffiths) is standing and would I think make a darn good representative.

We know all the hard work he puts in on Arran and we have a great means of communicating to him (and indeed for him to feedback to us)

So lets get of our arses and vote on the forms included in the latest BASC circular (you know the forms in the magazine that you and I normaly throw away as we open the envelope)

If you can't fold the envelope then vote online. Don't let this opportunity slip by or we'll be stuck with the Jan Andrews of this world who only ever seem to represent themselves.

+1 from me.

Thanks for the heads up.

I'm going on line right now.

For those of you that are coming to Baldock and will need 3rd party insurance now would be a good time to Join BASC for that purpose and help Griff in the bargain.

I feel better about being a member again now!!

Arild - if you pay your money - I feel sure you have a say in how the organization is run.

Not to suggest any other motive for your vote, however Griff is responsible for running the Red Stag & Hind culling weeks for BASC.

You may be aware that they have the shooting on the south part of the Scottish isle of Arran.

As a member of BASC, you have the opportunity to go hunt Reds with no trophy fees .... for £3-400 for the week!

Have a look at their website and consider if it sounds like a good idea.... along with a good friend or two! Wink

I read the report from last year with great interest, the place looks very much like my native coastal landscape.

Perhaps a good ide for another stalking trip with good friends when time and money permits thumb

This matter merits serious consideration. What's your policy on binge drinking Griff?

Best wishes Griff,

Can anyone point me in the direction of the on-line voting link. Hopefully, if elected Griff's first job in office will be to do something about the website layout.

Regards,

Tim

Griff's just got my e-vote online.

You need to go to the "Members Area" then to "Elections" on the left hand side.

If you haven't registered for access to the members area before - you will have to do so first by going to the "BASC Members Password Request" at the top right hand side of the home page. Once you have filled in your details including BASC membership no, they will (eventually) give you members area access.

Good luck logging in..... and good luck Griff!

I was having the same trouble yesterday and eventually found it in the members section. However in the meantime I had contacted BASC about not being able to find it. A very nice man phoned me back to say that following complaint's (AR?) a link has now been provided, it is there just follow the 2008 elections link and the voting button has come out of hiding.

Already Griff's supporters are having an effect thumb

All,
thank you for your support,we have just moved house and are having difficulty with Tiscali in them in supplying us with a broadband connection, hence the lack of immediate response..
please pass on the voting link to any other members you think would appreciate a down to earth council member.

regards
griff
