The in-laws have large boat in Palma, but I would prefer to be in the hills hunting rather than being sea-sick.

Does anyboby know how to go about hunting in Majorca?

Thanks

Rich,

I read about shooting partridge(?) on Majorca. Proper organised driven shoots. If this is what you're interested in let me know and I'll see if I can dig up the details.

Sounds good to me Stu. It certainly looks like good partridge country.

I reckon there must be deer and mouflon in the mountains too.

Deerdogs,

There is also some sort of wild goat that can be hunted in Majorca, but I dont know if this is the right season for it.

Deerdogs,

I have done a search on the internet and it seems all hunting is closed now!
The hunting season starts in October and ends in February (small game) and March (wild goat cabra cimarrona).

Hola Deer dogs

Just did a search and found there is an goat called Boc Balear , this is regulated and you need a special permit to hunt this species ( the one the admistration want to keep ) , then you found the Cabra salvaje o cimarrona , this is possible to hunt all year as this is domestic goats who lives in the remote areas of the Balears and get wild ( and this one the admistration want to eliminate ), should be a non expensive hunt , be sure you don't get a wild domestic goat as a authentic Boc , as far as I know the Boc it's not hunted in summer .
Tomorrow I'll have more info.

Saludos

Daniel

Pete,

That's standard procedure isn't it??? My concession to my girlfriend for dragging her through a week in the African bush while I chase plainsgame about , was that we would spend a second week in Mozambiqe chilling on the beach...
The Marlin fishing and saltwater flyfishing obviously didn't crop up in conversation...

Another kind of game to be encountered on Mallorca is the beach bunny. Open season is all year round.
