Spain hunt report

Outfitter: IbexHuntSpain, Valeriano Belles Tena

Dates: 08-14.11.2012 (active hunting days 09-13.11.2012)

Just returned from a great hunt in Spain with IbexHuntSpain (www.ibexhuntspain.com). Valeriano Belles Tena is a great host and wonderful guide. And a funny guy to be around. His operation is very profesional.

Together with two friends the goal was to hunt Barbary Sheep and Beceite Ibex. We started off in Murcia for Barbary sheep. After one and a half day without result we moved to a small village called Puebla de don Fadrique. We got a lovely Barbary sheep the first day in that area. We then travelled for 5-6 hours to a tiny village in the mountains called Corachar. This was Beceite country and we managed to take two very nice billies.

Here's some pictures for you! I haven't got time to write a detailed report, but please feel free to ask questions Smiler

Rough country!

My friend Geir with his Barbary sheep!

The billy fell right down after being hit by a very good shot.

Our friend and also a Norwegian taxidermist Atle was taking care of the trophies.

Beautiful mountains for Barbary sheep.

The village Corachar.

This was a breathtaking cliff. Great for glassing!

My 11 1/2 year old Beceite ibex.

And from another angle.

Here's a screen shot from video. Just as the bullet hits. We taken a lot of footage, which will be in a future DVD. All the kill shots, as well as stalking, scenery etc. is on video Smiler
This scene is going to be very unique, with footage of the shot from two angles.

Geir with his 10 year old billy.

The hole crew. Valeriano had several guys glassing different areas. Knowledgeable and great to be around.

This was pre-rut hunt, but we still saw quite a lot of animals. Fog and rain made it difficult at times, but we got what we came for.

Waidmannsheil Anders on a good hunt. Spectacular scenery, Spain has a lot of rugged terrain!

Nice pictures, looking forward to the DVD.

Was the hunt for barbary sheep very different to the ibex hunt? I assume these are the same sheep as they are hunting in Texas.

Looks like an excellent trip Anders, well done!

Yes, I will probably publish some teasers later, but not all of it since it's going into a DVD project in 2013. Wink
Going back in three weeks time for mouflon and southeastern ibex, so hopefully we're going to get a lot more footage.

Takker, Anton! Smiler

Yeah, it's a hard life Wink

We're going back to Val for two mouflon (male and female) and two southeastern ibex (male and female). And maybe, just maybe, there might be another mouflon male on license. He gave us a great offer, which we couldn't resist.. Big Grin
