Hi Stefano, my dad has an gun store in Germany. The problem is, we need a permit from our ministry for economic affairs and a permit of your country to sell guns and gunparts to an other country. This costs many time and money. My dad sold once time a rifle to Austria and he would do it never again. But maybe Lothar Walter can tell a gunstore you can buy it in Italy. Send a e-mail to them and ask about a local dealer. I found same at the website. Lothar Walter info@lothar-walther.de Martin

Thank you Martin, I already wrote to L.W. and they gave me an answer, more or less analogous. I asked to a friend of mine who has a gun shop too, but my problem is the time, on 23th of June I'll fligh to Windhoek and this was a present for two Namibian hunters... Does you father shop close on August? I planned a some day of holydays in August and I can spend them visiting Munich and visiting his shop bye Stefano Waidmannsheil

Stefano, just walking into a store in Germany and expecting to pick up firearms related stuff is tricky. Unless you can prove you have the licences necessary (e.g. a German hunting license with associated firearms license), it is unlikely the store can sell you the items you want. This goes for ammo as well as for guns. Now, it used to be (don't know the exact rules now), that barrel inserts were not actually registered on your German firearms license (German: "Waffenbesitzkarte" or WBK). But whether that meant you could buy the barrel inserts without proof of license, I don't know. - mike ********************* The rifle is a noble weapon... Mike, "tricky"? Selling guns to foreign customer is more than tricky. Selling guns to German gunowners with a hunting or marksman permit is tricky since the new gun laws from 2004. Stefano, my dad´s gun shop is not in munich, it´s more in the Bavarian Outback. Martin

The inserts are sold over the counter, only exportation is a problem in these times. Before in fact coming here to by them, make sure the store has them in stock. The same funny laws apply as well when ordering dangerous rifle parts like open sights or triggers from Brownell's or cases for reloading from Midway: There is also an export license necessary now. I am not really sure if this helps to combat terror...

Thank you all, 23th of June, my departure for Namibia date is relly close, and it is nearly impossible to solve the problem without a personal managing. Martin , excuse if I disturb you, but can you verify if the barrel insert sale, directly in the gun shops, is restricted or less? It is not a problem for to plan a travel combining the usefull to the pleasure, but I want to be sure to do it with a guaranteed positive result. bye Stefano Waidmannsheil

Stefano, when I see my dad, I will ask him about the regulations by selling from barrel inserts. Martin
