Looks lIke a good day. Also had a good on Saturday - nice and sunny, 6 guns half a dozen dogs and our beater aged 5. 3 or 4 standing guns and the other two beating with the dogs. Mixed bag of just over 30. And I tried out my old 410 - 3 pheasants and a duck all fell to it, was using 2 1/2 inch eley's loaded with 7 shot. They are deadly if you connect. I started with my 12, but then after elevenses we had some good walks across we fields - nothing like 5lbs of gun and a pocket full of cartridges, compared to cartridge belts etc! Now that I am getting confident with it, will definitely use it more often.

Heym,

I shot some driven partridges withthe same shells in 6's a couple of years ago. It was a nice .410 SxS with 30" barrels IIRC, and it killed the partridges as dead as anything else I've used.

I think it is a diferent type of shooting as you need to so much more precision in your swing but I agree that they are such a satisfying gun if you shoot it well.

K, the 410 is very satisfying, but very easy to make the mistake of trying too hard to hit things. Much better to just let instinct take over.

Just been in london allday on business. Popped into William Evans on way home. They have a very nice westly Richards 410 just like my wj jeffery but without pattern improving pitting that mine has. But for what they are asking and what I have put into mine I could buy a good beretta - they are going for silly money now.

Yep they make big money as do the 28b's too. It's just not the same shooting a modern Italian 410 though.

I think the 16's offer great value at present although it just isn't the same as the real small guns.

How much were they asking?

Next time you are in own lets grab a beer.
