I bought an Sauer 202 left handed in 300 win mag last year and gotta say its the best gun i have owned and shot..

Now i was thinking about buying another barrel on it and have been looking at the Sauer website and it looks like im limited with magnum only calibers..
Am i wrong in assuming that buying an barrel, bolt and a magazine would allow me to choose any caliber on their list?
I guess it might probably be cheaper just to buy another Sauer but are there not just one action size they make so basically any combination could be put together?

Regards

There are two actions sizes, 223 - 9.3x62 on the standard actions with bolt and magazine changes. The bigger cases, starting I think with 6.5x68s through to the big Safari magnums on a large action.

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

No, Sako. Claret is right, you bought the magnum action and are thus limited to calibers using the magnum casehead (NB. : the opposite is also true with the standard action).

You got confused by the Blaser R93 system where the switch to any caliber (.222 to .416) is possible by changing, bbl., bolthead and magazine.

3 shots do not make a group, they show a point of aim or impact.
5 shots are a group.

Thanks for your reply´s guys!

Now that gives me 2 options, buy a barrel in either 270 wby or 6,5x68, could go for an 7mm rem mag but never been really interested in that cal.

Or i could opt for a new rifle but given the prices on new rifles/scopes around here these days a barrel sounds better even thou Sauer barrels are really expensive!!

Thinking about it 270 wby sounds like a mighty fun caliber, looks like a good allround choice here in Iceland where long shots and wind is the norm..

Andre. cant say i got confused with the Blaser, i just didnt know the Sauers had 2 action sise hehe.

Never really cared for the Blaser, i know they are exellent rifles but i cant help thinking they are over engineered every time i see one;p

Hi Sako, do you know how much the barrels are now from Ellingsen. I have always wanted 9,3x62 to match my 6,5x55. I love the sauers, very accurate and the trigger is the best I have tried.

Sauer and Zeiss, perfect match.
