I shot a couple of big Fallow kids this afternoon, and one of them had the worst liver fluke infestation I have seen yet. There was a patch of 3 or 4 inches of white lumpy tissue. When I incised it, it was packed with fluke.
I know Fallow are prone to it, and this was near wet boggy ground, but how common is this?
Does it do them much harm? Do they go away, or get worse?
Just wondering what anyone else"s experiences are with fluke.

Here in the SW, the deer seem to be uniformly healthy.

I have encountered isolated incidences of lungworm, but liver fluke has not figured to any extent. Broken bones are commonplace (usually car impact injury)with a few interesting malforms.








Adjacent to ground where sheep are hefted - the level of ticks and keds can be a nuisance.
