Looks like you had a great Lundeyarferd Solvi Wink
It never stops amazing me seeing these birds homing to the nest with the beak full of small fish, neately stacked, head and tail each way every second one.

No no Solvi, I don´t know the place.
I saw the title on one of your pictures, not to hard to figure out what it ment Wink

I did work on Iceland the summer of 1973.
The Norwegians supported Iceland with a load of prebuilt houses after the eruption on Vestmannaeyar.
And I was working for a construction company as logistic supervisor.

We had our base in Sandgerdi, but did some traveling around in the Reykjavik area.
Tingvellir, Geysir, Skalholt, and the most magic place; Gullfoss.

Hope to be back one day and do the grand tour around Iceland.
You are so connected to our own history in many ways.

Solvi, it wonderful to see so many puffins. I was recently on the north-west coast of Scotland and the puffin populations are being reduced by the growing population of Great Skua (Catharacta skua), which is also called Bonxie in Scots. This used to be a summer visitor to Britain, breeding in only a few places, but has now moved in permnanently and greatly expanded the breeding range. Puffins and Guillemots are having a hard time as the fisheries around Britain are depleted of sand eel and other small fish, but the added predation by Great Skua could be the death of some populations. Is this an issue in Iceland?

The decline of the UK Puffin population is a continuing concern.
The general view is that the decline is related to overfishing of Sand eel stocks.
The fishermen of course blame pollution and global warming.
