Hi,
I posted a question regarding recommended ammunition or bullets in 7x64 on the medium calibers forum.

Here in Europe, do you have experience with Norma Oryx 170 grs (11g) and Geco Plus 11g ammunition in 7x64?
On what game have you used it and what have your experiences been?

Mostly, I seek to hunt roe deer, whitetail deer and wild boar with the rifle - occasionally moose.

Hi Lars,

I used Geco Plus a lot. Not in 7x64 but in .30-06. It worked well on wild boar and red stag for me. The damage on roe deer is not too bad. I don't see any problems on moose.

The precision and quality of Geco ammo is good.

The Oryx has a good reputation and I guess it will not disappoint you. So I guess both bullets will do their job.

Regards,
Hendrik

Marvelous!
Hendrik,
Thank you for the information!
This is precisely what I was hoping to learn.

Indeed, I have used Norma Oryx in a .30-06 myself. It's very good ammo: high quality, superb accuracy and good terminal performance on game.
However, I have only shot fairly big game with it so I was not too sure how it is on medium sized and smaller game.

I've seen the Geco 165g soft point work well on Brown Bear to Roe females in East Europe. Price is cheaper than the Norma too.
