Pete - an old Harris Bipod you no longer used? Tell me more - simply because I have a selection - but find that for most of my stalking they are more trouble than benefit.

I rate them for static positions like fox calling - but far prefer a stick and sitting position for 99% of my shots. A pair of Binos provides firm support for a prone shot if necessary - and those are always around my neck anyhow.

My disenchantment with bipods started with the noise that they make when catching on vegetation when crawling or stalking through thick stuff. It culminated when I snoozed on the chance of the biggest Red I have seen - because I was mucking around with the bipod instead of shooting!

Live and learn!

Hey Mike,
in my post above i have asked something about a special swiss firm who makes loden clothings.

"@our Friend from SWITZERLAND :
The Firm is OUTDOORS and from the note inside of the clothing its sayes that its from Switzerland. Do u know where it is available?
Its realy some nice stuff i only can resommend! Only down thing is when u have no chance to dry it between your hunting activity because the downs will get wet...
"

Can u tell me anything about it?

Greetings

Mike,

The sack was originally bought from Kettners in Hamgurg and seems to be at the upper end size wise of what i have seen here.

As I said before Wrights of Huntly will make you a bag big enough to hold a skia hind, but the canvas they use is very heavy and quite scratchy and they use lots of metal buckles which again is not good. Whether they would make they with out this metal work, I don't know...

With regards to my bag, i am quite impressed. It has no metal work at all, all (3) pockets and attachments are via leather straps in the tradional German manner. The only thing I could say is that the quality of the leather shoulder straps is "average"; I would prefer some made from heavy duty harness quality leather and therefore might get some of these made at my local saddler...

Just need to blood it now!

Regards,

Pete
