Hello,

My family is off to the UK next week for a vacation. Being a family trip, I didn't there was any chance for hunting. This morning, my wife pointed out the error of my ways and now I'm scrambling for any sort of opportunity with rifle or shotgun in the Mull/Oban area, Oct. 3-5. A bit of a long shot I know, but any suggestions?

Thanks,
Dean

Dean,

I have been trying to get someone out over these dates for the last two days to little avail, however on the islands there may be an opportunity.

Email me at Kiri@athinasporting.com and I'll put you in touch with someone that may be able to help.

Regards,
Kiri

Hi Kiri,

Thank you for looking into things. With our tight time line, it was always going to be a long shot. Next time, mom and dad will find a way to get some shooting in and the kids can take care of themselves! Soon after speaking to you, we got off the train and started dodging animals. It is like they knew we wouldn't be doing any hunting.

Pheasant and roe (?) on the road. A flock of ~60 pheasant in a field beside the path I was taking an early morning walk on. We made a minor detour while splashing up to some standing stones on Mull to put a bit of a stalk on some fallow deer mixed in with a mob of sheep. The same day, while dealing with a cut tire, we got to listen to a frustrated stag roar and saw a real beauty tending a hind on our way back to catch the ferry. 50 greylags feeding in the field 50 yds from our farm B&B window. It just went on and on.

Hope your season continues well,

Dean

Hey Dean,

I'm glad you enjoyed scotland even if you didn't get a rifle in your hands. It's a great place to tour for sure.

Next time you are going to come over, let me know and we will set something up for you.

keep well,
K
