Got a 75 year old who wishes to bring his wife and stay in castle type accom ( as long as not a hideous price) and take a Stag on the hill.

Any suggestions for somewhere that can accomadate and also doesn't require uber superman fitness?

Try Eat Haugh House Hotel in Pitlochry, they will arrange all the stalking.

plus 1

I think you will love it there, the owner is an amazing chef, the hunt can be conducted using ARGO vehicles to help the steep climb if you wish so for a 75 yr, there is also great fishing rigth there. Enjoy.

Dorset,

I'm in the states at the moment but back next week. I have exactly what you are looking for during the rut is year.

We will be taking a castle next to Balmoral for a week in sep/oct for grouse shooting, so your guys could join the team and go stalking on the estate.

We can chat when I get back.

Decades ago, I used to stalk stags in the Highlands for a few years in a row. It was a magnificent estate and quite close to Pitlochry. It's called Blair Castle (a white castle seen from the speedway from Edinburgh to Inverness (see pic below). However, HH the Duke of Blair Atholl was still alive and I was lucky to be in good terms with him (too long a story to tell) which allowed me to hunt at affordable conditions. The estate was immense and Red deer population unbelievable (herds totalling several 100eds. of animals). Several years ago, HH. died and, having no children, the estate went to a distant relative. Hunting has become a verrry expensive and commercial business, so that today I can only afford my memories of days passed...

above : Blair Castle
below : Forrest Lodge, where we stayed within the estate.

3 shots do not make a group, they show a point of aim or impact.
5 shots are a group.
