Very impressive! Is it open to the public or does it belong to a club?

Yes, open to the general public.

The city of Ulm is half way between Stuttgart and Munich.

yes

I ahve shot there and non members are welcome although I was inivited by a german shooting friend

The olympic trap range is nice but the background is difficult to be consistant.
They use spith machines

Since I have been I heard that they are changing over to polarised lighting in all dicipline.

I will be shooting in Munich this August
Might drop by there for a few rounds.

It is indeed a pretty impressive looking place. Here in Switzerland shooting sports in general and shooting ranges in particular are under constant assault - noise, lead contamination, shooting sprees, you name it. Indoor ranges are becoming increasingly common. The place in Ulm is the first I have seen with an indoor clay shooting facility, wow! Probably not the cheapest place to shoot, and (judging from the video) somewhat lacking in "atmosphere", but a place to shoot in times where other shooting ranges are shut down.

One complaint, though, why on earth did they design their rifle benches as narrow as they did?? It is nice that the benches are set up for both right and left handed shooters, but the benches being so narrow forces the elbow of the trigger arm to shoot overhanging the bench. What a pitiful design!

Mike
if I remember correctly there is a mobile bench that they slide
in between the 2 small
benches that you see in the videos in fact the benches are huge when
set up like it
by sliding a middle
mobile section
out they double their
firing position
I did
not shoot rifle there just trap with their
national team just before
opening officially to the public

No, it's 300 m and you can shoot your .50 BMG.

Hi, fine, thank you; never been there. It's quite far from my place, about 4 hours driving, not to mention the costly motorway tolls.
