Is baiting legal in Sweden? If so, try burning a honeycomb upwind of the freshest bear pile. Issa old Northwest Coast bear controller trick that I make no claim to having used (not legal in CA) but which certainly sounds feasible. And you could use the honey to baste the roast if you got one.

Baiting is illegal. Not only that, but once you have shot a bear, you must contact a "controller" from the govt. to come check it where it's laying in the forest. This is so they can see that it isn't a female with milk, in which case they will take it from you. The "controller" will also check to see if there is any sign of baiting (anything in the bears mouth, or anything he can find in the vicinity).

We were told though that baiting might be allowed from next year on, so I'll keep your "sweet advice" in mind!
