I was on a shoot on Tuesday somewhere up n Suffolk. It was a mixed day and the keeper said he would put us onto some woodcock through the day. We did the first of two woods, and put a good 15-20 out which I thuoght was quite impressive. Then we did the next wood and it was Woodcock City!!! We must have flushed upwards of 40 bird from in there. I have never seen so many woodcock in my life and they just kept coming... I had a chance at a left and right which I didn't take as it was too low I did get one shot at one bird that folded up nicely, and the other guys had many more chances. Six ended up in the bag but the cartridge ratio was in the teens!! What a great little bird!! FB | ||
