I am looking for a name and URL of a Scottish rifle maker that made a bespoke bolt action rifle built on it's own m700 type system.

I want to say, it might have also been a take down rifle.

They made them with local sounding names like Jura.

I received a catalog from them about 8 years ago and the rifles were out of my price range, but of course things change and now I would like to get a hold of them.

Furthermore, if it helps these bolt action rifles were the makers only product. This wasn't one of those centurys old B.I. gunmakers, but someone newer.

The British gun trade have their own database and forums at www.internetgunclub.com with data on more than 2000 gunmakers, past and present. Do check them out.

Good Hunting!

D99,

I know the company you mean, but I just can't recall their name! I think there was an article in The Shooting Times about them some time ago..

I'll do some digging and see if I can come up with something..

Regards,

Pete

tiggertate,

Many of the Scottish names have now consolidated under a single roof and the traditional guns are being made again. Please check out http://www.gunandline.com/content.asp?ArticleCode=571

A friend in England who is an expert on British guns tells me that this company owns the rights to the Harkom name as well. The MacNaughton and Dickson shotguns were among the best game guns ever made and still are. Fortunately, the English like them so much that they have allowed to Scots to continue making them. Big Grin

jbderunz,

Thanks and god hunting!
