if i happened to be in London in early september, would there be any roe hunting oppertunity in close proximity to the city(couple of hours bus/train ride)?

since hunting isn't the main objective of the trip, i want to set of 2 days for the hunt.
if i manage to get my animal early on i'll call it a day, i don't need more than one
i don't care for a good trophy, i just want an average animal.
i would need to borrow a rifle.

are there any serious outfitters who could offer this?
(links are greatly appreciated).
and what would you guess such a hunt would cost? everything included, tip etc.

Prostalk thats on here might be able to sort you out, he'd be a couple of hours drive / train ride from london, but has an estate rifle he lets his clients use and looks like he has some very good animals on the land he stalks.

Also consider talking with FallowBuck on this forum.

I know he has Roe, and a good contact in the area you mention.

Steffen,

My contact has Roe and Muntjac, also possibly some red to be shot this year although I'm hoping to get a few guys from here to help pout on that one!! Wink

He is based in Suffolk and there are plenty of deer. Feel free to PM me and I'll find out if he can accomodate your needs/desires.

'Sorry to hijack from Steffen, but, in a similiar vein, I have ancestors from around the Stroud area and would like to arrange a hunt not too far away from there in the next year or two. I've PM'd Prostalk a while back, but haven't heard anything. Any suggestions?

Stroud's in Gloucestershire, nearly as far away from Ian as he is from you!
But a quick nip up the M5 should sort it.

You are right - Stroud is only 1.5 hrs up the M5 from me.

If your snores were to be believed, you were comfortable enough down here last time!

Do you fancy a couple days chasing Roe, the bucks are clean now and coats on the change?

Promise they will be easier to extract than your Red, and our woods are looking real pretty about now!

You have a PM waiting.

Edited: Ooops - didn't cotton that you were looking for hunting in Denmark. Sorry, can't assist there.

Ian, I'l love too but I'm a bit booked up for May. First Africa, then my Bus-pass birthday, then Lithuania & some boar.
However early June looks empty and I was wondering about combining a Boar & Roe visit now I've got my new Swarovski scope from Rick today?
How's the moon then? My snores change to howls Big Grin
