I will be going to Germany in August 2010, for the Passion Play. While in Germany I was wondering what hunting might be available. Are there any seasons open at this time? Who in the U.S. books hunts in Germany? Thanks H Kittle

Talk to www.diana.dk or one of the guys on here. Gerry (his handle on AR) and I had a great hunt in 2006. You will have to ask him about his prices, but I am sure it's probably under 250 Euro a day.

Beginning of August is the prime time for roe deer rut. I presume you will go to Oberammergau, the area is very beautiful, especially in summer. I would contact the local forestry administration, maybe they can help you, too. They offer guided hunts sometimes, usually for red stag and chamois but also for the "little ones". If not Oberammergau, there are many other areas in Bavaria where you can try, send me a PM if you are interested in contact information. Another member who might be able to help is "monastery forester". I understand however he lives more towards the North.

H-K..... Here's the link to arranging a Hunt with the Bavarian State Forestry. It's (of course) all in German but ought to peak your interest. Hunting opportunites in Bavaria are arranged throught the link to the Regional Forestry Offices who adminster their Forestry & Hunting opportunities within their specific areas. http://www.baysf.de/de/home/unternehmen_wald/jagd/jagdangebote.html Waidmannsheil, Cheers, Number 10
