Theres a sufficient difference in case length between .308/.243/22/250 to require a different bolt?

Never really looked at the dimensions from that point of view - majority of manufacturers will only employ a different bolt should the case head size be different. At .470", that aint the case with the cartridges mentioned!

No extra bolt is needed when converting to .308 Win. Only the .243 and .22-250 use a special (longer) bolt to allow feeding of these short ctgs.

Does anyone know if a Sauer 202 Stutzen in 9.3x62 mm, can be fitted with a synthetic stock, it would be my second stock to avoid damaging the wood on bad weather days.
I send an e-mail to Sauer about this matter and got the following answer :

Quote:

Dear Mr. Rodrigues,

Unfortunately it is not possible to put a synthetic stock on your Stutzen because the connection between barrel and fore-end tip is a patented solution. If you would disassemble your rifle to mount a synthetic stock it would not be possible for you to mount the wooden stock again.

Best regards

I dont know what Mr. Klotz is referring to,
Any help would be appreciated.

Pete,

I have a small collection of sauer 202's and I reckon it would be an easy enough job to change the recoil pad or put a spacer in front of it.
