Well guys after years of running down both the .243 win and the Blazer R93.

I have gone and done a deal on it all rolled in to one, well sort of!

I have done a deal on a LSR2 in .243 win.

Now I just have to wait for Lincolnshire Police to process my variation, 2 weeks and counting.

I am a Blaser fan, but that is the ugliest rifle I have ever seen. I am confident it will be a shooter though!

I played with one in 223 about 18 months ago. Very impressive piece of kit from an accuracy point. Possibly the best trigger I have ever seen on a factory rifle.

I would not want to have to carry the bugger any further than from the house to the boot of the car.

It is one of those things you would have if money and licensing were not an issue.

I have to say, I have developed a real notion for a Blaser over the past few months, but I will resist.....

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

If you ever get the opportunity to handle and shoot a Blaser combo gun, by all means do. I have considered getting rid of all my R-93 stuff since I bought my BBF 97. It is the best.

A few weeks ago I tried 39 gr of 4895 and Sierra hp 70 gr bullets. My last 3 at 300 yds were in 3 1/2"
Pretty good load!
What are you intending to shoot with the 70 gr?
Mine are intended for coyotes as the fur is worth nothing now. I would'nt go as low as 70 gr on deer. Much as I love my .243, it just does,nt have the mass for big deer with a bullet that light.
Welcome to the joy of the .243!

Well Sam, you did give me a 243 case at Baldock last year!

I have bought the 243 for the park culling that I do so the 70gr is ideal for head shooting, max damage and no exit.

Did you get your Muntjac from Davey?

Yes, Munty is mounted but still in Northern Ireland. It will make it's way across the pond eventually so people can see it and ask "WTF?"
I shot Red stags with .58 gr v.max in the .243 when shooting them in a pen at close range. 70 gr is more than adequate for head shots, esp when you can take your time and pick the shots. The .243 is so easy to shoot that it lends itself to this kind of use. If you hit a large deer in the brainbox, it's amazing what it can stop. I shot stags with 150 gr SST's (.308)and had no exits if the shot was well centerd.
308 mate has a funny story about that, but maybe he should tell it! dancing

Irrespective of the precise species, we'll still be needing pictures of the new acquisition mate! clap

Have you taken much with them yet?
