Hi can anyone recomend hunting and gun shops in Madrid Spain, I am going on a short weekend trip there. I am going to stay in a hotel in the centre. I am looking for a leather case to put a riffle scope on a swing mount in, leather cardridge case, riffle sling, maybe some reloading stuff if the price is right . Also in a lookout for a good hunting knive.

Sauer and Zeiss, perfect match.

Don't know where the stores are, but I can recommend the Muela Knives, they are very reasonably priced in Spain, and I use them almost every day to skin animals and also fine caping work. It is very good steel. I own 4 of them, which I bought over the last few years at the Ficaar show. The Venatoria hunting exhibition may well be on the same weekend that you are there. Starts, I think on the 28th ro 29th March. There you will buy all the items you have mentioned.

If you don't know Muela knives, here's a link which shows a few of the incredible range of knives they make (is it the same as the link above?):

http://www.muelaknives.com/

I think the Cougar model with stag handle (without the antler base) is one of the nicest.

I was told by a Spanish hunter that their shop on km 102 of the carretera Toledo is very well stocked and has a small museum. Next time I go I'll check for sure.

I had a great time in Madrid and I went to
quote:
Armeria Espanhola on c/ Monte Esquinza, 5
it was in walking distance from my hotel.
I bought a case for rifflescope made of leather, I am very happy with it. The store was ok. not as good as we have here in Iceland but ok, The prices on the riffle compareable maybe little cheeper. I did also go to some knive stores to look a Muela knives but did not find what I was looking for. They were too big or to small. So I guess that the Fallkniven F1 is still on the list. Anyway thanks a lot for the help. This web site is great.

I have several Muela knives as well. I think they are excellent for the money. I wish that I would have bought one of the pig stickers while I was living in Spain. All mine are the hunting or tactical models.
