Here at last is some photographic evidence of the luddite 1894's activities

First buck of the season shot on the first day - very good for the area.

This muntjac buck finally stopped infront of a safe backstop for the first time in 6 months.
Looks to be a gold allthough only I have measured it thus far.

Poppy my little labrador indicated this buck which we had an exciting stalk after.

Nice pics!
Looks like you have good time there in Britain... [Wink] I have to admit being a little envious of your seasons and the variety of species!

Cheers

While English gun laws basically suck, you can't argue with deer hunting like that.

Nice going. Looks like a ton of fun!

Hi hi, very funny. Don't forget that I have owned one of these missfits a couple years ago! 1894, thanks for NOT showing me the smokepole that bagged these animals [Big Grin] [Big Grin] somewhat I don't belive you , it must be a very strange blaser, perhaps camoflaged [Big Grin]

Daniel, I guess you would have some sort of concentration problems with the drill if you saw the "blaser" [Big Grin] . What I can tell, you are a 98 nut, soo be glad that we don't have to see it.

Now, I have to visit my controlled round feed darlings in the gun vault [Smile] [Smile]

The opportunity was too good to miss!

Here's the 6.5x55 custom mauser for the muntjac

[url= http://"http://www.hunt101.com/?p=49736&c=500&z=1"]  - [/url]

09 Argentine, shihlen 3#, Churchill stock, Swarovski Nova in custom soldered mounts.

The other 2 were shot with my 6mm rem which is basicaly the same but with H&H takedown system and better wood carved from a blank.

I can smell my way to a mauser, there is no chance that it will be misstaken for a silly blaser [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Who have built your guns? I guess the take down is the one with a small piece of metall that will fit with the tang of the receiver and a sqrew in the front that can be tightend with a coin or sqrewdriver. Have you used Argentine mauser 98 for all of these lovely guns?

A close up shot of the mauser rifles would be nice.

It's as Johan said. The rear of the action is machined just in front of the rear screw to make a male 'tongue' This slots into a female that is fastened via bedding and the rear screw - it stays in the rifle.

The front screw is a cap head for which a handled key is provided. To take down rifle you undo the front screw and pull the barreled action up to about 45degrees and remove. Reassembly is just the opposite.

A 3/4" group is possible taking down between shots so the system works well for me where I have to put the gun in a safe in the care before I go to work.

Johan - 09s throughout. Got to love that action!

I like Brno m-21 and ZG-47's, Mauser loony [Big Grin]
Argentines are very nice actions for beeing an army rifle.

Is it hard to find the Argentine action in U.K?
Who built your lovely smoke poles? I want names [Big Grin]

Is Paul Roberts still in business? I like the Charles Newton design of take down, but it's a bit more complex to build than the H&H wood take down

Cheers
