Im trying to decide between these 2 scopes.

Can you guys give me your experiences with each?

ALso trying to figure out if i want illumination or not. I only hunt boar at night a few times a year.

I do want crosshairs that are so heavy all the time, i like the A9 reticle in the Schmidt und Bender.

thx

For hunting boars at night, none of the both.

8x56 S&B or the ZEISS 7x50 illuminated is the
way to go.

Neither of the two you listed. For hunting boars at night the right scope is S&B zenith illuminated 2.5-10x56 or Zeiss Diavary illuminated 3-12x56. Which of the two ! Your choice...both excellent scopes.

Actually I do prefer S&B but in the Zenith series (I have 3 of them) to the Diavary (I have 2 of them) but Diavary is a better scope compared to the classic S&B series...in my opinion. But none the less S&B classic is still a fantastic scope...I’ve tried one in 3-12x50 and I liked it a lot.

Optically and mechanically both are the same.I have a Zeiss D Victory 1,5-6x42 and a S&B Klassik 1,5-6x42 as well. The Zeiss is a few grams lighter and has a little longer eye releif. The Zeiss Victory 2,5-10x42 is the same size and weight than de 1,5-6, around 15 oz. But the 3-12x42 Klassik´s weight is near 20 oz. Because of this I would preffer the Zeiss. And for your needs, I think you don´t need an illuminated reticle.

Regards

PH
