RWS v. Brenneke?

Hi,

I've read (somewher on the 'net...) that people prefer the Brenneke ammunition in favor of the RWS ammo. The reasoning being that Brenneke is the original manufacturer if TIG and TUG, and RWS is a licence manufacturer. Some maintain that RWS's bullets aren't equally good.
Is there any truth to this at all? I'd be especially keen to hear from our Central European friends, as they likely have experiences woth both: the only Brenneke ammo I've come across are the shotgun slugs.

Having witnessed the performance on both galt and piglet wild boar this weekend with the RWS EVO I sure don't know what to expect from Brenneke ammo if it is better!

Yes, Brenneke was the original designer and producer of the TIG and TUG projectile lines. For many years, Dynamit Nobel produced and loaded both under a license agreement via their RWS brand. Some years back, that license agreement ran out, and RWS now produces (pretty much?) the same bullets under different names. The Brenneke brand is a bit obscure in Europe, and their ammo is not easily found - in contrast to RWS (now owned by Swiss Ruag - just like Swedish Norma etc). Hard to say if a Brenneke TIG/TUG is better than their RWS alter egos. Bullets are a personal choice and people are pretty committed to their house brands...
