1894mk2Blue Tongue
Don't think this appears to have registered thus far but Blue Tongue is a haemoraghic (sp) disease that can cause up to 70% mortality in white tail which are very closely related to roe.
Plans are afoot to blood test deer in East Anglia, fingers crossed it's not a big issue.
We've got very used to some huge deer densities in the UK over the past 20 years - the alternative would be very painful!

Fallow Buck1894,
good point, and to be honest I hadn't really thought of the desies affecting the deer.
Is it likely to affect any other species in it's current form that youknow about?
