BASC statement re the Jan 1st deadline From January 1st 2006, new rules must be observed by shoots and individuals who sell game and venison. The rules are required to meet a European directive on food safety and will be supervised by the Food Standards Agency (FSA). Holders of the DSC 1 should note that they need take no further training to gain "competent person" status for large game (deer). Additional learning material will be referenced shortly by DMQ, and all DSC1 holders will be contacted and asked to declare that they have read and understood it to gain accreditation . Good news - no need for more expense to obtain paperwork for training allready undertaken.

Thats good news, until something else comes along... Fallow Buck, what is the online training module that you were refering to? Suppose it will still cost £100 to deal in feathered game though, and that is for selling in feather with no examination of internal nodes or organs, doesn't really seem right does it?
