This is the typical product of the perverse conjunction of Mental Onanism and radical environmentalism.
A lot of noise for something that happened regularly in the past 10 years. Someone says that the negative fact is that the Piemont Region sells the animals as happened in the past years. Someone suspect a settling of scores vs the Governor of Piemont Region, Mercedes Bresso of DS party (post-communist) who wants the high velocity and high capacity trains travel in a very long tunnel that has created protests, demonstrations and incidents in Susa valley.

However they are the 1% of the Italian huntable roe deer population. Infact +/- 50.000 roe deers will be hunted. And the hunters of Piemont Region are ready o renounce to make any big game hunt to provoke the administraton to take a definitive position on this problem, also because described as cruel.

In fact the administration, if the hunters will cross the arms, has to cull boars, red deers, chamois, roe and fallow deers, mufflons and any big game following a precise plan.

But this mean spend for cartridges, cars & fuel, insurance, overtime payments and particular/dangerous working conditions like hunt while snowing or raining on mountains, probably some hundred thousands Euro to expend, while the Region will have also a less income from taxes on hunt not payd, +/- 65 Euro each hunter. They must do it, too much car accidents.

This mean that the Region, if do not manage the problem, will have problems in following and developping social projects, or reduce them importance.

I think that the problem will be solved

To day the hunt begun.
Some anti hunt activist is trying to disturb hunters and animals.
At least one buck has been bagged.

Correction, 100 has been bagged in the first day.
At the check center animalist tryed to provkoe the hunters screaming to them insults and defining them murderers.
They hope that some hunter react phisically, to charge him to the police, who has take away the hunting license etc,etc., and increase the noises.

The anti-hunters have no shame, no manners and no class; very little is beneath them.
