I didn't draw an antelope tag this fall so I have mid to late September free.

Are Roe buck still an option in September?

September is generally a suboptimal time for roe buck. They become very secretive after the rut in August. Still possible in some areas, but definitely be careful where you go.
Open areas like in Hungary, Serbia or western Romania should offer a good chance still.
My main chamois area in Macedonia is good in September for roe.

September is prime time for red stag and some areas have a good chance at roe bucks as well. Good for mouflon and chamois.
Not so good time for boar, Sika or fallow.

I have a permit for a chamois in Slovenia available still if you are interested into a mountain hunt.

As Dennis said, it's not a best time of year to hunt Roe bucks but that does not mean to say you won't see them. I have had client over from the states in September and October and they have all seen and shot Roe. Hunting areas are located close to London.

Another great option would be Red and or Sika stags in Scotland. I would be happy to help you if you would like some information and prices.

With kind regards

Thanks guys, I'm really interested in eastern Europe since I haven't been there yet. But, I don't think my knees are up to a serious mountain hunt. All the old injuries and surgeries are starting to add up and I just don't tolerate the climbing anymore.

Mike, I've worked and holidayed in the UK about a dozen times so I'd really like to try someplace new. That offer you just posted for Scottish Reds and Sika is fantastic though.

Hi .
In Bulgaria we have good areas for roe buck hunting for the first 2 week of september.
Areas with a lot of agriculture (corn, wheat, alfalfa and etc).
End of August when corn is harvest , fresh grass is growing and roe bucks like that. We alway have good success on this time.

Flat area with forest and roe buck hunting is mostly from High seat.

On the same area is available red deer management and trophy hunt.

Regards
