I saw the post in the taxidermy forum about these two deer taken in England.
Seem like very cool animals.
Does anybody have any information on them.
Are they free range?
Whats the hunting like in England?
Any information is very much appreciated.
Thanks,
W.

Hi Woodsie,

I have been arranging hunting in England for these and many other species for the past 15 years.

I will drop you a PM with full information.

They certainly make a fantastic trophy! Smiler

I did the hunt in 2002 (IIRC). I shot roe and CWD, but I did not get a Muntjac.

It was September and the vegetation was still pretty tall. Going later in the year would improve visibility and the chances of success on all of the small species.

It makes a nice, fun trip for wives or girlfriends since there are so many tourist opportunities and things to do other than hunting.

It is a fun hunt, but it lacks the "grand adventure" aspect of a true wilderness hunt or a safari. Not drastically different than the hunting that we do here in the USA.

CWD are only in season from November through to the end of March. They are a lovely trophy but perhaps not the UK's most difficult deer to stalk.
Muntjac are a great sporting animal and highly underrated.
Either Norfolk or Bedfordshire/Buckinghamshire would let you do both.
Be wary of who you book with. There are some utter crooks out there. Ian does not fall into that category.

Kevin Downer is the best. All his ground is free range on or around the Duke of bedfords estate for buster Chinks and Muntjac. Emali me for his contacts and pricing.

Danish, you rock! I know of no other person that goes hunting in a Bentley. None.

You mentioned James Ellis . . . is he still at the Gunton Deer Park?

Nice CWD and muntjac as well.

Danish,
That CWD skull you posted. Who sent you the picture?
I know the animal well as it was shot on my permission and cleaned up by me. It's one CIC point short of gold.

Danish.
I am afraid to say that you have been misinformed.
I can assure you that is not your CWD in that photo.
I am annoyed that someone else has passed you a photograph taken by me of one of my deer and told you it is yours. It is not yours, and it is very easy for me to prove that it is not.

I shot my CWD on some of James' hunting areas in 2002(?), though James didn't guide us. We stayed at the Elderton Lodge adjacent to Gunton Park. Nice area.

Danish,
Please remove the offending picture from this thread also.
As previously stated. This was not your deer.

@SWS, i have removed it, I have apologised three times now when i dont have to do so as i am not sure if ur telling the truth or my taxidermist is lying, as i said i will have a word with him as to why i have been emailed a pic of a skull that does not belong to me. i have also already sent him an email but he has not replied back as yet but still since you objected i have removed it. like i said i have already shot a gold medal CWD why would i on purpose put a picture of a skull which is not mine. i

Danish,
You had left it on this thread but removed it from the others.
I can take a photograph of another head with the exact same background, or even a copy of todays newspaper. I do not lie.
I just hope you get the correct head back!

sws Dont make to much of this on the forum mate it dose not look good and takes away from what is a good thread. I am sure there is a reasonable explination and that it can be sorted out.I do hope that the correct trophy makes its way to the rightful owner.

SWS calm down its only a photo.

Danish was sent this photo from the Taxidermist and posted it in good faith. If you are that bothered about the fact it could be your photo then why did you post it on facebook?

Who is to say it is your photo and not one taken by the taxidermist?
