I�m interested to know if there is any forum members that have been hunting in the Ukraine republic. If you have, please let me know where and if you went with a hunting organization. Please give som information about the organization if you have.

A word of caution!!! They will take your money and give you very little in return if you get hooked up with the wrong outfitt!!! I would suggest booking with a firm that has been doing hunts there for years. One of their favorite tricks is to put you where there's no game and then when you offer money for a trophy you suddenly go where there is game. BE CAREFUL BECAUSE ONCE THEY GET YOUR MONEY THERE IS VERY LITTLE YOU CAN DO IF THEY DON'T COME THROUGH AS PROMISED

There is quite a bit of hunting offered in the Ukraine at present. I have only gone once (about 5-6 years ago), and I was disappointed. Our area suffered from too much poaching, and although the people tried hard, their area was not really set up to find the large pig I had hoped for.

Would I go again?? I probably would, but unless I had a true inside and really knew the people, I would probably elect to book via one of the (big) booking agencies. At least this way you are dealing with a Western European partner, should things go sour. My booking agency refunded part of our hunt costs on my less than successful trip to the Ukraine ( Mistral ).
