Elias Do you see the screw on the left side of the docter sight? 3 seconds to take it off.... for me (even for my 416 Rigby) the Docter Sight is my backup scope in the trousers pocket, including the mount it is aprox. 150grams(?). Hermann (Do you remember sending me the 450NE infos once? THXs again...) You bring up a good point with hunting in Weinviertel - the shooting distances on these driven hunts are rarely over 50 meters (Falkenstein)- with the Docter sight I can see the whole sceen, with a scope I tend to focus on just what I see in it - even with my 1,5-6 Kahles (26meters FOV 100m). With the 1-4 I feel somewhere lost in too much FOV - with the Docter the rifle is more in focus for me and manouvering it is like shooting my shotgun forgetting about the scope/sight - to each his own I don't see any problems with the ruggedness of the Docter Cheers, Franz

Hi fellas.. I have several rifles to different purposes.Sofar I have shooten my 375 with opens only, main reason is the recoil in fast situations ,I dont want to join the "halfmoon club"..ok . How do you find the red dot sihts in general, lets say in distances less than 120m.?? Im looking for wide angle in sight and enough clearance from my eye corner to the aiming device..fast to use..and minor parallax..Y got my point..this is my bear rifle and as y know, things can happend in seconds. So,please y who use red dots, give yr reply of experiences..and which might be best of those devises.. Thanks and good shooting.. Elias

Elias I have been thinking about trying the Ziess Z-point sight. It is small and light weight, and being made by Ziess I would think it of good quality. I like the fact that in daytime it uses solar power to power the red dot. Has anyone on AR used one?

Elias, Have you had a look at the Zeiss Varipoint VM/V 1,1-4x24T* with illuminated dot? Swarovski makes a simular one too. I have a 2.5-10x50 on a .375H&h for moose hunting here in Norway, and although it hasn't been hunted with yet (season starts in 1.5 months...) I've been very happy with it. If you're looking for something with a bit more choice in magnification than the Z-point, the 1,1-4x24 might be worth looking at. Btw, I have a "halfmoon scar", but it's from a 30-06. Never gotten hit by the 375 using my current scope or a 1.5-6x42 that I used on another 375H&H either. Don't be afraid to try a "normal" scope on a 375! It isn't all that bad! IMO. Erik D.
