Communist Hunting Vehicle...

Hmm, seems we need a bit of lighter fare these days, so how about this:

This is an add (in German, I'm afraid) for Erich Honecker's personal hunting vehicle. Those of you who are into history will remember he was the head-honcho of the German Democratic Republic - a.k.a. East Germany.

Apparently this is a heavily customized Range Rover, complete with electrically adjustable shooting rests, and what have you... Sounds like the Communist leadership did not have to worry overly about hunting ethics or regulations...

The vehicle is offered for sale in Germany for the "modest" starting price of EUR 175.000, although there may be room to negotiate that down a bit Wink Perhaps more of historical interest than a candidate for your next hunting vehicle...

For those of you who don't read German, at least you should be able to appreciate (or otherwise) the pictures...

Very practical. I would be nearly perfect for lamping foxes... Roll Eyes

Bit pricey though, there are about 3 noughts too many on the price.

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

Those communist leaders were douchebags. While their subjects were lacking almost everything, they treated themself like kings. My wife is Polish and told me about serious shortage of even essential goods, during the communist regime.

Rangies have off road problems as it is bcos of the rear body over hang, and this one has had the body and chassis extended and additional weight added. I hope they up rated the suspension and brakes whilst doing the rest of the conversion work.

£140K for a 25 year old motor vehicle even with such a provenance is way over the market price.

It is tragic that someone would even contemplate paying such an inflated price for what is basically a 25 year old Rangie with a few added bits of 25 year old electic add on's and a body extension.

Still someone will but a bid on it soon or later but I doubt if it will be half of what the asking price currently stands at.
Now if you wanted something of real class how about this?

There's even a special adaptation for you to tuck your handbag out of the way whilst you're cruising down to Kent to have another go at the Fallow. lol
