I have an opportunity to purchase a new in the box Steyr SBS 96 in 6.5x54mm. This rifle is one of 150 produced in 1998 as a commemorative for Steyr's 150th anniversary. I would like to purchase the rifle as a shooter. I have several of the older Mannlicher Schoenauers that are considered colletables and worth big $$$. I'm wondering if the newer Steyr limited edition rifle would be considered a true colletable? Any and all info on true value appreciated. Thanksd, Stoney

If you like the rifle buy it, don't buy it to make money later, as guns are a poor investment.

If you want it because you like it buy it!

Collectable to whom? Is always the question.

A Purdey isn't worth a $100 bill when you need the money now.
