Hi, greetings from Hermanus, South Africa. This year in June I gonna visit a concert in London, it will be my first visit to the UK.

Two days in London should be enough, I'm not fond of big places at all. After that my idea is to stay a week somewhere in the south, far from noise, traffic and the crowds. I would love staying on a farm or in a b & b. And I would love to hunt a roe deer. How can I get hold of some addresses, who has done it before, I mean stayed in a b & where they not only offer a bed and a hopefully delicious breakfast but a hunting opportunity as well?

I would love getting some contact details!

There are quite a few members here who have hunted with us, so asking for references should give an idea of what we offer. Smiler

My first roe, taken with Ian.

Ian has a place you can stay on site and his lovely partner Jo is a fantastic cook. Can't recommend him enough.

Sunshine,

As Ghubert & I have, also endorse an opportunity to hunt with Ian & Jo - you'll be in good hands.

Gents,

Many thanks for the recommendations.

Sunshine is in transit at the moment & will post an update on landing.

He duly arrived in Devon & turns out to be one of the longer registered PHs in RSA, having been on the PHASA list since 1986.

So, given that his hunting ability was not a problem, we set out to find a nice buck...........

Waidmannsheil !!

Hi Ian,
thank you so much for a fantastic hunt in South West England. I loved the beautiful landscape and what delighted me most was the number of deer we saw every day. Roe deer and fallow deer were almost as plentiful as sheep and cattle!

Ian is a highly experienced hunter and brought me very close to the game. He was very surprised and maybe even a bit frustrated when I refused to go hunting as early as 04:00, so we left 06:00. It was a lovely sunny morning, a morning I shall never forget. After an exciting stalk I shot the buck from a 50 m distance, the watch showed 07:10. The rifle is a Krieghoff 'Hubertus' in 6,5x57R, ammo called 'Sax'.

Thank you once again!

Klaus

Klaus,

Waidmannsheil for a great Roebuck.

Looking forward to meeting you when we relocate to Betty's Bay next year.

You don't know what you have missed - break of dawn in June is the essence of pre-rut Roebuck hunting (IMO Wink)
