I have been offered a used ISSF 300m target rifle built around a keppler action in 6mmBR

Has anybody got experience with them ?

I have been on their web site but there isn't much detail about the action itself

Are they built to tight tolerances ?
Which model to avoid ?
Are they competitive without much modifications ?

Thanks

Benjamin,

Yes, I have a Keppeler DJV target rifle in .222 Remington and a coupla Buddies who have them in .223 Remington & .22 Hornet as well.

They actually sell more 300 meter rifles in their aluminum stock configuration in 6mmBR & the current popular crop of 6XC'S & 6.5x47's etc. than the Hunting models.

My rifle is a fantastic shooter capable of 5-shot 1-Hole groups on days when I can manage my bench skills.

Mine has an Anschutz 100 gramm Match Trigger installed which is pretty much adjustable in about every dimension a trigger could be desired.

I purchased mine over 10 years ago with the L/H surcharge and today they're starting @ €2400,-.

Worth every penny IMO; my next will be a .308 Winchester.

Cheers,

Big Grin

I'm glad you've said that Gerry, I'd wager a certain mutual friend is rather glad also.

How would one in 6mmBR tickle your fancy? stir

I'll be surprized to see what the ultimate stock configuration is gonna look like when it's in final form .....
shocker

I shot mine several times at 300 meters with the wind sensitive 50 grain Speer TNT's and vanilla-flavored 3-12x40 Leupold scope. 5.5 - 5.7 cm groups; so @ +2.2" 10 shot groups.
