This is from the Political crater, for your information and hopefully action:

Stuttgart in Germany, will be the first town, take for every gun a tax of 100-150.-€ for every year, starting 1.1.2011. When this will be in every other town and county in Germany, it´s the end of the legal gun owning. I haven´t the money to buy every year nearly 2000.-€ to this comunistic bandits

Ja, mindestens in Stuttgart.

For all you helpfull guys out there who'd like to express your discontent to the mayor of the city that supplies the world with flashy automobiles and has still several US military bases, here are the addresses of these two "gentlemen":

Michael Foell, responsable for finances
CDU Kreisverband Stuttgart
E-Mail foell@cdu-stuttgart.de

The CDU Stuttgart central mail account: cdu@region-stuttgart.org

Here, the main author of this crime against our rights:

Dr. Wolfgang Schuster
Oberbürgermeister (Lord mayor of Stuttgart)

Rathaus Marktplatz 1
70173 Stuttgart

Telefon: +49-711 / 2162554
wolfgang.schuster@cdu-region-stuttgart.de

In case you want to complain to an even higher level, Mr. Stepfan mappus is the governor of the State of Baden-Württemberg: Stefan.Mappus@cdu.landtag-bw.de.

Let them please know how you feel and forward their mail adresses to your shooting and hunting friends, too! Any help is highly appreciated!

***

Would you guys mind stopping your pissing contest for a couple of minutes and focus again on the political content of this threat?

If this succeeds in Stuttgart, first other German cities and then other European countries will follow. I have learned that this initiative was born out of an agreement of several german city councils, Stuttgart was choosen as a pilot project.

If this gains the dynamic development they hope for, they have generated a very elegant way not only to raise more tax money but also to practically outlaw guns for all but the police, the military, game wardens and the rich.

Eastern Germany 2.0 I guess...

Thus, I was hoping that some of you might pick this issue up and send these dumbos a polite or not so polite letter. You might even feel the need to forward their mail adresses to all of your freedom loving friends. I did this already.

Thank you very much in advance for listening.

It is true. We are talking Euro 100 per year. And this is from the German conservationist party. Bottom line: they try to punish their prime citizens. It is desperate because they have no glue: if you maintain German hunting ethics EVERYBODY has at least a minimum of 6 rifles. This law hits of course the blue-collar workers. That disappaearing mayor will be remembered for a long time in his attempt to achieve Euro 1.5mn.What a desperate move.

Best of luck with the fight on this one! We may be headed the same direction over here soon.

When the politicians can't disarm us outright, they start "coming in the back door".

Good Luck!!

No, you can still have as many rifles and shotguns as youwant as long a sthey are stored proper- and securely.

This is of course a major headache for the do- and feel-gooders who are convinced that a person becomes much more dangerous if he owns 2 rifles instead of one.

Damn friggin' politiians, indeed!

Thank you very much, bobby,

you might wish to send a copy to the Porsche AG as well. Let them know what you thing about the evil attitude and hostility towards their customers of Stuttgart's city government.

Believe me, this mail will reach Mr. Macht's desk, even more so if he receives similar mails from other countries and from their biggest market USA. Ain't no better leverage...

Will you please provide substantive documentation that this is correct?

If I can confirm the veracity I will make significant noise.

Auslanders can and should not interfere with local politics, but letters of intent do not constitute interference.

Hello Oxon,

if you google "Stuttgart Waffensteuer [gun tax] you get lost of links to newspaper articles like this one:

Südwestpresse: "Stuttgart Gun Tax"

This article even states that they expect that other cities will follow suit.

However, and there we can notice that this issue is not yet very well known abroad, the only English language links I find are from gun boards like AR.com.

This fire, if we do not succeed to step it out at an early stage, will for sure spread to other German and I fear even European cities. It is just a very efficient tool to eliminate gun ownership without the need to change ownership laws.

May big cities here have governments controlled by the Social Democrats and Greens. These politically active urbanites are usually very much against gun owner ship.

I do appreciate your caution not to get involved into foreign politics, this is usually the better alternative. However, in this case you can just voice yoir concern as a consumer.

Our adversaries have proven many times that this kind of leverage works pretty well.

We appreciate very much any help we can get, like I said, this issue can have huge consecuences if not dealt accordingly.

Apparently they are getting flooded with protest mail, not only from German hunters and shooters but also from overseas. For sure they did not expect that kind of reaction, the protest has just started to spread and the formerly conservative CDU in the whole state is getting a lot of fire.

I thank very much all of you who voiced your protest.

Hmmmmm.....
In the next future, in 3-5years, Germany will get a total gun ban. Everything, handguns, rifles and shotguns will be forbidden. Especial for target shooters and collectors. Hunters must store the guns and ammo at policestation.
At the moment, the legal gun owners are the public enemy #1 in Germany. Every week, there´re new bad news about us and the futur of gun owning. Since this week, the highest German court must occupy with a complaint, that the gun law is against the German constitiution. "The gun law and the rights of legal gun owners, especial target shooters, is over the human life and the public safey, especial the the life of children."

Questions?

Too many parties are against us. The greatest problem is, the German gun owner haven´t any great association, like the NRA in the USA. The many different associations are argue with one another. Hunters against marksmen, hunters against hunters and marksmen against marksmen. So, our enemies have a light play with us.

I have so many, wonderful and rare rifles. I spent a lot of money for my hobby. I don´t want give my guns away, with the knowing, the guns went to scrap. At the moment I´m very depress. CRYBABY

Martin,

if I read your post it makes me feel that we have already lost the war against the antis.

BULLSHIT THAT!

We might, in the very worst case, have lost a tiny battle!

Of course, if we surrender before the first shot is fired we'll loose everything for sure.

Therefore, we need to get up and fight, each and everyone of us!

After all, we are still Germans, remember?

Hello Martin,
I fully support the opinion of DUK – we still may loose at the end even when we fight, but we have already lost if we surrender now!
Although it is fully understandable that you are depressed at the first moment, you have to overcome this quick.
Try to be a part of those who are working against this tax, visit the different web sides which are fighting and get updated, get a list to collect addresses of people against this tax and visit you next shooting club, hunting party and get those people there to list and undersign themselves in the list.

By the way your picture that we fighting against each other is not true and fair for the moment since sometime most of us legal gun owners have understood the lesson.

Being part of the EU, there is always a risk that an anti-gun decision taken by an important member like Germany can cause a similar wave through the entire community. Disarm honest citizen as well as abolish hunting is a main way to enforce the leftism do-good and conformism. Frowner

Next city to vote on a gun tax: Iserlohn, an initiative from the former Communist Party, today called "Linkspartei":

Iserlohn . Iserlohn wäre damit Vorreiter in NRW.

I sent one for you. Outrageous!

Here's what I sent.....

"Friends in Germany have made me aware of your outrageous plan to tax German gunowners 100 Euro per annum for each gun that they own. Why not tax soccer balls and bicycles while you are at it? You ought to be ashamed of yourselves for proposing such an odious and oppressive tax that obviously has nothing to do with responsible taxation for providing public services and everything to do with disarming law abiding citizens. My family immigrated to the United States from Germany a couple of generations ago and politicians such as yourselves make me very glad that they chose to do so."

No, No. I don´t surrender.
I wrote letters, be in three associations, have discussions with other citizens and our enemies, bought a new rifle this year, a new scope, two expensive vernier sights and reloading equipment for nearly 1000.-€. I love shooting and I´m pleased about the next competions. My dad is gun smith and I´m working every saturday in his store and we have a lot of fun with building rifles.

But I have a good look about the hunters and target shooters at our region. Many hunters and shooters surrender. Too many citicans in Germany are against us and so I mean we have not the best chance.
