Excellent report of a great hunt, welldone. Really extraordinary to shoot Brown Bears in a driven hunt.

The numbers of brown bear in romania are far to high.It was Ceaucescu,who was responsible for the high numbers.A big population would produce many big bears and the dictator was really "bear crazy".The ecosystem in romania is good for 2000 - 2500 bears,official numbers are around 6000,and with trophy hunting banned,these numbers will rise.

Well done on your amazing bear hunt. I too was impressed by the wild boar. Did you roughly calculated the weight of the largest one?

No we did not. But I were in Romania again last month for wild boars. 2 really big males were shot during the hunt, one 246kg and the biggest one 257kg. Enormous wild boars there
