I want to ship from the states directly to Denmark. I would like to ship 20 boxes of ammo, but that could be adjusted. this is to have a double rifle regulated. If you have ANY ideas please let me know. Chris

Chris, it is a LOOONG time ago since I lived in Denmark, so my information may be out of date. But since you are not getting any replies from our resident Danes, I'll have a go... As far as import into DK goes, the recipient must ensure he is entitled to receive the ammo. This would normally take the form of applying for an import permit, or importing through a licensed gun dealer who holds a valid import license. Sorry, I can't fill you in on the details on obtaining the permit. As far as shipment is concerned, Europe has gotten a lot more problematic with respect to shipping guns, ammo etc. Where I live, UPS has always refused to ship firearms. But the postal office used to do so for us, although they have stopped to do so of late - presumably because of safety issues. If the regular parcel delivery services refuse to ship for you, and USPS probably will not allow ammo shipments, your best bet may be to try air freight. I don't know how that easy that is for you, it probably won't be cheap... Now to the legal side of matters. The US normally frowns upon guns, parts, ammo and components being shipped abroad without a proper export permit. Unless you can find somebody with a valid export permit, who is willing to ship the ammo on his license, you are probably stuck with obtaining a permit on your own. This is done through a US licensed exporter, and is normally associated with quite a bit of red-tape and expense. If you attempt to ship the ammo without the proper paperwork, you risk 1) confiscation, 2) legal issues. Oh, btw, Denmark has a "modest" VAT (sales tax) of 25%, so expect this to be the minimum amount of tax due if and when the ammo might arrive in DK. Better not set the value of the ammo too high on your shipment papers... - mike ********************* The rifle is a noble weapon... Chris What ammo do you want to send out? Send me a PM and I will see what it will cost for us to buy the ammo here and send it on your behalf to Denmark. Rgds, K
