Anyone know if there is more than one bolt face. A friend of mine bought a 3 barrel set rifle with 8x68S, 6.5x68S, and 6.5x57 barrels.

Does he need a seperate bolt face for the 3rd caliber? He swears that the guy that he bought it from told him no.

I would have thought you needed a different bolt with a .473" face for the 6.5x57, but maybe it works with the larger .511 bolt face on the x68s case.

I would want to see it in operation before I parted any cash to buy it.

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

Hello Torbin,

Definitively it is needed another bolt with the corresponding bolt face size. There were many bolt sizes, originally, for the Mauser 66. Some of them really special made:
-Standar group of cartridges: 8x57/.30-06 group
-Standard Magnum: .375 H&H head size group
-8x68/6,5x68
-9,3x64
-7x66 Von Hofe
-Possible others
