Hi Riude The area where you are going to stay is one of the best areas in Portugal for big game hunting, mainly wild hogs and red stag. The hunting season starts in October and ends in February, the hunting method for both wild hogs and stag, here in Portugal, is driven hunts, Montarias, the hunters remain posted and the animals are driven out of the woods by packs of dogs, called matilhas. You will need to have a Portuguese non resident hunting license that should cost about 75, you can take of this when youre here and an European card for your weapons, that you should arrange for in your country. This hunts can be organised by local organisations or by the hunting reservations directly, at the moment I only have booked two hunts, but when I know about more of this hunts I will let you know. When are you coming to Portugal ? If you also like to hunt with a shotgun, pigeons, partridges etc, let me know and I will send you some informations about this as well. I hope you enjoy your stay here in Portugal. By the way, Castelo Branco is also a very good area to eat good Portuguese food. Cheers N. Rodrigues | ||
