Tony Price used pictures of Fern in one of his dog training demonstrations. It was an article about unruly spaniels and their idiot owners that cause the problems...

I will have to pick up a copy of SR tomorrow to read while away.

There was a full page colour photo of me with two very nice Corrib Trout in the November 1996 edition of a German fishing magazine.

Long story for another day.

When I turned 60 (some years ago) there was a feature about me in the monthly magazine from The Norwegian Society of Lifting Technology.
The picture was not very flattering though...

(But I guess this a bit off track?? Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin)

In 1988 I was mentioned in an article that appeared in Shooting Times. It was about a ratting club of which I was a member. It only mentioned me to express incredulity at the stupidity of my plan to take up cigar smoking as a way of giving up cigarettes.

308 Mate,

After my recent starring role, you'll be pleased to know I have received several lucrative offers from the likes of "Sniper's Eye" & "Bobble hat wearer weekly." dancing

I had to explain, I wasn't 'that' sort of a model!!! Eeker

On July 2005, when I got back home I sent this photo to a friend, who is the director of a hunting magazine. It was greeting him, and the photo was a little souvenir.

Two month later it was published on two central pages of the magazine to illustrate the 30-06 Sprgf qualities.

In tha past three years I've been greeted a lot of time with the enthusiatic phrase: "Hey I saw you on "Cacciare a palla" (the magazine), relate to me all about your hunt, and please don't forget all the details on your 30-06 data. I absolutely want to now all the story!!!"

My problem has been that I hunted the steenbok and the gamesbok with a 9.3x62 Sabatti. Cool

Hey Stefano,

That's a really great photo. Love the Kalahari.

I took this one in 2006. My only claim to fame is it's been published a couple of times on the outfitter's webpage. It was shot with a 30-06 (180 gr Woodleighs).

cheers,
- stu

Stu,
I agree with you, I love Kalahari too, where have you been when you were hunting? My photo has been taken about 60km North of Aroab. I've been there twice, but I'm ready to get back in any moment.

Hey Stefano,

We hunted with Johan and Mabel Kotzé in june 2006, through TJ Safaris. Pretty much the same area outside Aroab.

I'm looking forward to returning someday soon.

cheers,

No Stu,
not pretty much, but absolutely the same farm Smiler, The first time that I've been there on 2005, the second one on last year. I went there at the end of june both times, but last year it was really cold.

I still dream to spend some day here , and hunt it is not strictly necessary.

Mabel and Johan, fine people.

bye

This photo of me was the coverpage of the Norwegian huntingmagazine "Jeger" in august 2005. Innside the magazine there was a story over 5 pages with a lot of pictures.

I thought posting here on AR is what made us famous. But seriously, I have co-authored a couple of gun articles for the French magazine Cibles. You can guess what their standards are.
