How many kilos is the stag on the bottom of your post? Even though he looks to be a six pointer he appears very heavy.

Do you think he should have been killed earlier on before he got to be such a old animal, as he has "inferior antler shape"? I say this because hs is only a 6 x 7 stag.

I have a book I am working on about game management, and how to judge which stags to shoot. It seems as though since he only has six points he should have been shot earlier. Is this the correct way think?

When I say I am "working on this book" I mean I am reading it, not writing it. I don't have any formal training as a wildlife manager, especially with stags.

Before congratulations for the book, there is to say that animals have a good genetic. Here we have two types of red stag, one is the types from photo and the other is very small the german name is "steinhirsch"....the stone red stag.

Is this:



The antler of this type is more small and the weight maximal 100/120 kg. The genetic of the last animal is poor.
The "steinhirsch is adapted for live in the high Mountain.

For the Antler 6/7 no idea what might influence the growth in this manner I think it's just a question of genetics.
