I have been there eight times and have experienced it all. Hunted ptarmigan high in the mountains off Oxi in October, reindeer on the Snaefell plains early August, duck, geese and seal at the Selfoss coast, (shooting a seal is considered a mortal sin over here and I didn't dare to take the skin through Customs!) seabirds from Stykkisholmur harbour. All this was presented to me by a couple of very dear Islandic friends of mine.

Solvi, I love your beautiful country and its hospitable people so much that it has become my second home!

We where hunting Reindeer on zone 7 and 8, mostly on 8 where we had tags for 7. bulls and one cow, we had to brake camp and go back to the farm that we started from. All in the entire trip took 8. Days and we all got our animals although the first 4 days where just setting up camp and retreating. I will post some pictures later

Solvi,

It certainly looks a bleak place..Are the tents heated at all?

Regards,

Pete

Pete, these vikings don`t need a heated tent, they heated up their bodies with black death! Big Grin

Sorry Pete for the late reply.
Yes those tents are heated up with oil. The bigger one has two stows and the smaller has one, so heat is not a problem.
Regarding Black Death most of us prefer Jagermaster for the drinks in the evenings. Cool
The club is coming along fine, we have just made our first contract leasing a nice land for Gees and ducks and the farmer is now working the land so we will be able to grow corn and other delicates for the pray we will be shooting next autumn.
Furthermore we are planning a hunting trip to GB or somewhere central Europe.
Best regards
Sölvi
