I am, together with my hunting buddies, a member of a hunters association managing an area of about 1,200 hectares. There is a total of 36 hunters hunting this area, specially for red partridge and hare.

The area is probably one of the best areas in the country for partridge, and this year we expect to kill between 1,000 and 1,100 red partridges and 300 hares, all 100% wild.

When hunting we split the 36 hunters in two groups: one group will form a line and the other group will beat the game towards the first one, with the help of dogs.

No mater the group you are in, the chances for fantastic shots will always be there!

Here are some photos of our partridge/hare hunts.

Yesterday, in a hunt 44 shooters ( plus dogs, helpers ) shot 477 hare and 39 pheasants ( plus one Rebhuhn ~ grouse and some Pheasant hens, which the dogs caught ) on an hunting area ~ 510 ha. There could have been more shot, but "call off" ( "Abgeblasen!" ) was very early ( means the command to cease firing came early ).

Before there were two Pheasant hunts ( I participated in one of those ) on the same area, where > 200 Pheasants were shot.

Afterwars was the dreaded "Kellertrieb" ( Hm, lets say a tour through some wine cellars ) and then the "Schsseltrieb" ( Supper ) with a little drinking, story telling, simply very stress relieving!

Hi Konst!

Yes, Austria.

And looking for some hunts of that kind in the future! Have invitations for two bigger ones ( Hauptjagd ) with ~ same amount of game, one slightly smaller one, and then ( hopefully more ) two Forest hunts ( much less game, but fine atmosphere and the chance for hogs, too ) and our own forest hunt!

This is the code to use with no spaces.

To get the URL address when having a look at each photograph I just RIGHT clicked on each photo and copied the photos jpeg URL and put it into the code. Maybe you tried to use the imagestation web page URL not the photo file url (?)

Looks like you had a fun hunt.
