I ordered some RWS brass for a 10.3x60R k95 barrel and 8x57 IS Sauer 202 barrel I ordered about 10 months back.

$20 per box for the brass, on both calibers so I am pretty happy, hopefully the stuff is as good as claimed.

Brass came in a few days ago, wish my barrels would get here.

Going to take the K95 in 10.3 to Switzerland in 2009 or 1010 for Gams. I ended up meeting a nice lady and her husband that are both hunters and own a ski-hotel in one of the mountain towns. She thinks she can get me a gams permit.

Can I ask where you ordered the RWS brass? I've been searching for a supply of RWS 9.3x72r for my drilling. I just won a set of RCBS dies off EBAY for $35 total - a real bargain.

Where exactly do You go for this Gams Hunt?

I just wonder because in Graubuenden it's not so easy to get a permit.

She lives in Interlaken, I am not sure where they hunt. Here are some photos of her and her gams.

That might well be in the canton of Bern, then (at least if Interlaken is any clue). In that case, the 10.3 would not be required - and to be honest with you, it is not exactly the "ideal" chamois caliber... (I say this knowing full well I run the risk of incurring the wrath of our fellow members from Graubuenden in general, and Collani in particular. For this I profusely apologize... ).

I don't *know* the regulatations of canton Bern, but many mountain cantons in Switzerland have a minimum of 7mm (whatever that exactly means - .270 allowed or not?), and a minimum bullet weight of 140 grs (approximately). Exceptions (trust the Swiss...) include Graubuenden and Ticino (minimum 8mm).

My 8x60s was Swiss had a single shot follower and was thought by Mike to have originated from this Canton?

She shoots a 7x64, not sure if it is a repeater or not.

I'd probably take my 8mm Magnum, as Blaser is killing me on the lead time on my 10.3x60R barrel, right now we are at 11 months.

The 8mm Rem Mag would work, no doubt about that! Being the ballistic twin of the 8x68S, which in the Germanic World is very popular for long range work.

Judging from the pictures, your friend looks as if she shoots a left handed R93. Unless it is customized, that is likely to be a repeater (Blaser only makes the R93 in 10.3 as single shot). The 7x64 is pretty ubiquitous here in Switzerland! Nice caliber, good choice for chamois.

I just plaid with an 8x68s round and I want one!

So now I need to find a deal on that caliber brass, dies, and reamers.

I doubt her rifle is a single shot.
