I have a 20 gauge double bbl. that had been in my family for over 50 years. It shoots Brenneke slugs to 35 yards as good as a double barrel rifle. I would like to take a deer and a wild pig or two with it. Does anybody here have any experience with the 20 gauge Brenneke on game. I have taken deer and pigs with 12 gauge slugs. Thanks.

Here in S.E. Minnesota we are limited to hunting deer with shotguns with slugs. (Well, now certain handgun calibers are legal too.) I use a 20 gauge model 12 Winchester for deer hunting, and have for 30 years. I use Brenneke slugs almost all the time. They seem to shoot straight, and have deep penetration, with good killing power. I think they are one of the best slugs made. Even better than the new Sabots. Of course with my old Winchester, I am limited to 2 3/4 inch shells. But, I never feel handicapped with Brennekes... Grant.
450 No2 I remember shooting my first wild boars, back in the early seventies, with my Arrieta 20ga. side by side loaded with Brenneke slugs. Longest shot ever taken was at around 25 or 30 yards, and at that range it was effective. Bullets would pass through on broadside shots. montero
